Tõnu Mauring

Dr. Mauring was researching and developing green construction methods at the Institute of Technology of the University of Tartu for more than a decade. His main interests are in building performance assessment and optimization. His current research focuses on information and communication technologies in the construction industry. Currently based in Zurich, Switzerland, Dr. Mauring is developing a workflow and design tool for early-phase neighborhood design at the Amenti AG, with the end goal to support the implementation of the Energy Strategy 2050 in the construction industry. More specifically, his team does performance assessment by using geometry- and irradiation-based parameters, generating the design alternatives through a multi-objective optimization algorithm. Both his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees are from the University of Tartu.
