Financial Reporting and Communication microdegree programme starts

Do you want to better understand financial data and present it convincingly?

This practical microdegree programme, delivered in English, equips you with the skills to prepare, analyse, and interpret financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will learn how to communicate financial information clearly and reliably—both within your organisation and when interacting with business partners.

What will you learn?

  • Financial Communication – Enhance your financial terminology and communication skills by learning to use accounting and finance concepts correctly in the UK, US, and IFRS contexts. Gain an understanding of financial statement structures, management accounting, and the fundamentals of investment and banking. (3 ECTS)
  • Financial Reporting – Deepen your knowledge of IFRS principles and financial reporting regulations. Learn how to record transactions and prepare and analyse financial statements according to the ACCA (FR) syllabus. (6 ECTS)

Who is this programme for?

This programme is designed for finance professionals who wish to expand their knowledge of international financial reporting. A university degree is not required for participation, but a basic understanding of accounting or previous work experience in the financial sector is expected.

Learning format

Classes take place in person—there are no online sessions. In addition to classroom lectures, you should plan for independent study, as the programme includes individual assignments, group work, and presentations.

The programme is delivered in English in a learning group of up to 30 participants, including undergraduate students. In addition to the scheduled lecture days, the course workload includes independent assignments. Classes will be held on weekdays between 10:00–17:15 (exact dates and times will be confirmed by June 2025,, from 2 September to 18 December 2025.  (You are welcome to specify dates avatudulikool@ebs.ee)

Registration and payment

Registration opens on 1 July via MyEBS and remains available until 25 August or until all places are filled. You can generate an invoice for either a company or an individual through the purchase system. The payment deadline is 25 August.

Entry requirements

Participants are expected to have:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting
  • Completed secondary education
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
