PRESS RELEASE
According to Mart Habakuk, Chancellor of EBS, the large-scale construction of the Eedu Education and Business Campus has reached a pivotal point, with excavation work nearing completion and the construction of load-bearing structures set to follow. “We are pleased to collaborate with an experienced contractor like NOBE on this complex and ambitious project. The future A-energy-class building will reach its full height of 105 metres by spring 2026,” said Habakuk.
NOBE’s Construction Director and Board Member, Priit Nigols, emphasised that the high-rise building of the Eedu Education and Business Campus represents an extraordinary and exciting construction challenge for NOBE. “A world-class architectural design combined with close collaboration with the client creates a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a new landmark in the heart of Tallinn. For this project, we are employing innovative construction methods new to Estonia—such as advanced climbing formwork technology, which allows the construction of high-rise load-bearing structures significantly faster than traditional solutions,” explained Nigols.
The existing EBS building will be connected to the new structure via a gallery, with the old building becoming an integral part of the Eedu Education and Business Campus. The new development will feature modern co-working spaces, office areas for young businesses, venues for various events including conferences, dining establishments, and exclusive apartments on floors 9–30. Revenue from the sale of these apartments will fund the construction of the Eedu Education and Business Campus.
The combined above-ground and underground volume of the new structure will total 37,000 m². The architectural design is by the award-winning Finnish firm ALA Architects, renowned for projects such as the Helsinki Oodi Library and the new terminal at Vantaa Airport. The project is being carried out by EBS in partnership with Metro Capital OÜ.
Founded in 1988, EBS is the oldest business university in the Baltic region, with 1,000 students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies in Helsinki and Tallinn. An additional 150 students are enrolled at EBS Gymnasium. EBS actively invests in startups and startup-potential research projects, collaborates closely with accelerators, and encourages its students to engage in entrepreneurship.
