EBS Senate Awards Professor Tiit Elenurm the Title of Professor Emeritus

The Estonian Business School (EBS) Senate has awarded the prestigious title of Professor Emeritus to Professor Tiit Elenurm in recognition of his remarkable 24-year contribution to the university's teaching, research, and development efforts.

This honorary title was granted following a proposal from the Vice Rector for Research, Regina Erlenheim, and Head of Research, Development, and Innovation, Andreas Veispak.

 

Professor Elenurm has been a dedicated member of the EBS academic community since 2000, beginning his career as a researcher and lecturer. In 2010, he was promoted to Associate Professor, and in 2017, he achieved the title of full Professor. Throughout his career at EBS, he has played a pivotal role in advancing the university’s Entrepreneurship Department, where he served as the department's head.

 

His work has focused on a wide array of fields, including knowledge management, international entrepreneurship, innovation, and cross-cultural management. He has also made significant contributions to entrepreneurship research and training, not only in Estonia but also across Europe. His efforts have helped bring the Estonian entrepreneurial landscape to the global stage.

 

In addition to his role at EBS, Professor Elenurm has collaborated with numerous international academic institutions, such as Aalto University, the University of Ljubljana, the Warsaw School of Economics, and the Prague University of Economics. His expertise has been sought by many high-profile organisations, including the Estonian Business Angels Network, the European International Business Academy, and the Government Office's Estonia 2020 working group.

 

Throughout his career, Professor Elenurm has emphasized the integration of practice and research, a commitment reflected in his involvement in a variety of national and international projects. His dedication to enhancing the knowledge and skills of both students and professionals has left a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape in Estonia and beyond.

 

His colleagues at EBS, including Rector Meelis Kitsing, commend him for his continuous efforts to foster entrepreneurial innovation and for making substantial contributions to both academic and practical knowledge in his field.

 

This well-deserved recognition as Professor Emeritus marks a new chapter in Professor Elenurm’s illustrious career, as he continues to influence and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and scholars.
