Nordic Ideation Week at Estonian Business School

Nordic Ideation Week in EBS
Nordic Ideation Week in EBS
For the third year already students from EBS, Copenhagen Business Academy and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences gathered to solve real-life business challenges.

EBS students have already for three years participated in the Nordplus programme  https://www.nordplusonline.org Nordic Ideation Camp teamwork, where 6-person international teams offer new creative solutions to enterprises interested in developing their products or services and in expanding to foreign markets.

The students apply design thinking and try to develop a deeper understanding of client expectations and needs. Our partners are the Copenhagen Business Academy and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences Porvoo campus.

Two years ago EBS students were in Porvoo and last year in Lyngby near Copenhagen but this year it was EBS task to arrange the Nordic Ideation Week in Tallinn from 11th to 15th of November, In each team there were two students from each partner university but I fact many other countries were represented, as our partners sent to Tallinn also many incoming Erasmus+ students from their universities.

In fact, searching background information for searching innovative ideas started in online teams that used digital tools already on 4th November. That prepared face-to-face ideation. In Tallinn 5-day intensive ideation meant full-day commitment by students. There was however some time for a joint party and some sightseeing in Medieval Tallinn that was arranged by EBS students.

The jury that assessed presentations of teams on 15th November, considered services development ideas presented to Estonian start-up Alpa Kids https://alpa.ee/en/ to be the most valuable but other teams also deserved some special prizes. During the week after the camp teams fine-tune their reports that will be sent to enterprises. In addition to developing creative thinking and teamwork skills, a great value of this project is expanding international networks of student that would benefit their future career and business development.
