Peeter Lorents (PhD) graduated from the mathematics programme in Tallinn University in 1974 and defended a physics and mathematics doctoral candidate dissertation at the Faculty of Mathematics of Leningrad National University (St. Petersburg University) in 1981. Lorents has been a member of the Estonian Parliament and been employed as a counsellor to the Minister of Education and the Prime Minister. From 2006-2012, Lorents participated in the work of NATO’s Cyber Defence Centre which aims to develop the respective doctrines at NATO, offer expertise in cyber defence and conduct technical cyber surveillance.
