Journal of Management and Change

Journal of Management and Change, earlier called as EBS Review, is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that has been published since the spring of 1995. It covers the areas of business and social science such as management, leadership, organisational change, corporate governance, business ethics, corporate responsibility, sustainability, economics, finance, accounting, banking, human resources management, marketing, international business, entrepreneurship development, international relations, law, development studies, cross-cultural studies, public administration, women studies, education and so on. 


We have a permanent international editorial board, all well-known and distinguished academics and high-level specialists in their fields. Our aim is to pursue a continual process of improvement by broadening the editorial board with top specialists from various fields of management and business administration and receive high-level contributions from around the world. The journal publishes different kinds of original papers, including conceptual and empirical research, case studies and managerial approaches. 


Journal of Management and Change is indexed with and included in EBSCO databases, and according to ETIS its publication category is 1.2. Journal of Management and Change welcomes unpublished contributions from an empirical and / or conceptional point of view on the above mentioned topics.

Please submit a first draft that is proofread and edited/checked for language/grammar/required format style.  If English is not your native language, please be sure to have an English language editor review and revise your manuscript for language issues before submission. We can offer the service for language editing, proof-reading texts in English language, but these costs have to be covered by the authors themselves. This should be the final finished version of the paper, checked for grammar, spelling and typographical errors. A brief autobiographical note should be supplied separately for all authors, including full name, appointment, name of organization and email address. Please provide also a short introduction, with more detailed personal information, including education, main publications and research interests (opt. 8-10 lines). 

The optimum amount is about 8000-9000 words without reference list and appendixes for a longer article, or 5000-6000, for a shorter one. Please send your submission to




Abstract: Please provide a short abstract of 100 to 250 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references. The abstract should contain purpose of the article, methodology / approach, main findings, research limitations/implications (if applicable), practical implications (if applicable) and the originality/value of paper.
Keywords: Please provide 5 to 10 key words or short phrases in alphabetical order.
Language: The journal’s language is English. British English or American English spelling and terminology may be used, but either one should be followed consistently throughout the article.
Appearance: Please use Windows directory 7.0. or compatible programs, Font of 12 pt, single-spaced, 6 pt (after) interim between paragraphs, with sufficient margins (left at least 3,5 cm, others 2,5 cm) on all sides to facilitate editing and styling. Please number the pages consecutively with numbers at the bottom, aligning in the centre. Abbreviations and their explanations should be collected in a list.
Citations and quoting in the text: You should cite publications in the text: using the first author"s, maximum two first authors’ names, by means of an author’s name should be followed by the date of the reference in parentheses and page number(s) where appropriate.

  • For example: Price (2000); (Adams, 1997); (Näsi, 1995: 102) or (Donaldson and Preston, 1995).
  • When there are more than two authors, you should mention only the first two authors’ names, followed by ‘et al.’ For example (Easterby-Smith et al., 2003: 42).
  • In case of several citations, separate several these with semicolon (Harrison and Freeman, 1999; Clarkson, 1995; Wood, 1991; Goodpaster, 1991).

When there is direct quotation, the page number is a requirement. Use ‘single quotation marks’ for direct quotations and quotations of more than 40 words should be set off clearly, either by indenting the left hand margin or by using a smaller typeface. In the event that an author cited has had two or more works published during the same year, the reference, both in the text and in the reference list, should be identified by a lower case letter like “a” and “b”; after the date to distinguish the works.

Figures and tables: All graphics, figures, tables and illustrations should be numbered (graphics and illustrations are also named as figures), mentioned in the text (Figure 1) and should have headings or legends. Our journal is printed in black-and-white; therefore figures and tables should not be submitted in colour. Figures and tables should be placed in the text at the right place and/ or at the end of the manuscript following the Reference section, then the approximate position of figures and tables should be indicated in the manuscript. Each figure and table should be accompanied by an explanatory legend, tables’ heading is placed above the table and figures’ below the figure. Explanatory footnotes for long explanatory material, should be placed immediately below the table. The sources for both tables and figures must be brought out below the table and / or the figure.
Section headings: Headings should be short and accurate. First-, second-, third-, and fourth order headings should be clearly distinguishable. First and second order headings have to be in ‘title case’ and ‘bold’, third and forth order headings with ‘capital first letter’ and in ‘bold’. A 6 pt interim should be left between the text and first- as well as second-order headings.
Notes: Please use endnotes only. Notes should be indicated by consecutive superscript numbers in the text and listed at the end of the article before the References.
References: References to books, journal articles, articles in collections and conference or workshop proceedings, and technical reports should be listed at the end of the paper in alphabetical order. All references should be carefully checked for completeness, accuracy and consistency.

References to technical reports or doctoral dissertations should include the Author’s surname, Initials. Year. Title of report or dissertation. Institution and or Publisher.

For electronic sources: References supplied in the same way as other sources, if available online, you should supply the URL and add accession data at the end of the reference.

When reference is made to a homepage, please add a note to that.

Appendices: Supplementary material should be collected in an Appendix and placed after the Notes and Reference sections.
Acknowledgements of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section before the References.

Proofs: Editorial board leaves itself the rights to make revisions and editing of the text and not to return the manuscripts.

Copyright: Authors will be asked, upon submission of an article, to transfer copyright of the article to the Publisher. This will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information under copyright laws.

Permissions: It is the responsibility of the author to obtain written permission for a quotation from unpublished material, or for all quotations in excess of 250 words in one extract or 500 words in total from any work still in copyright, and for the reprinting of figures, tables or poems from unpublished or copyrighted material.
