EBS High School Principal Kersti Uudla reminded audience and the graduates about the times when she conducted admission interviews with students:
"Today we celebrate our shared journey and achievements. Just three years ago, you entered this school full of hopes and dreams. Do you remember our first meeting, the admission interview where we discussed the school's values? The values of EBS High School remain freedom and responsibility, creativity, entrepreneurship, and care – we have lived and learned by these values together. We also talked about your future plans. I took notes from the most memorable interviews because our school's values and your future perspectives have shaped who you are today. As budding high school students, you promised to take responsibility for your learning and actions. You promised to stand up for what you believe in. You have kept your word and stayed true to your principles. This quality will take you far in both personal and professional life.
Three years ago, you expected EBS High School to develop your financial management skills, provide a stable learning environment, and offer motivating teachers. I hope these expectations have been met and that you have gained knowledge and connections that will support you in the future.
Starting at EBS High School, you began with a clean slate. You came here from different schools, with various backgrounds and habits, different school cultures, and had to show what you were made of – who would become a master and who would remain an apprentice. You all started with an equal footing. Whether you seized this opportunity was up to each of you. In any case, you outperformed the average Estonian student in the state exams – in the Cambridge English exam, you achieved 19 C2 level certificates! Even our lowest score in mathematics was above the national average. That says something.
In my opinion, you have been very active and accomplished a lot. Many of you will be remembered for your creative approaches or special superpowers – like the ability not to see or hear things😊. But you will also be remembered as a class with interesting, unprecedented, and innovative business ideas – like coffins for pet burials or electronic business cards.”
Addressing the fresh EBS alumni, Kersti Uudla added:
“Today marks the end of our daily collaboration with you. New challenges and opportunities await you now. I wish you courage. Be brave, wise, and tolerant. Avoid falling into the comfort zone, continue your studies. If you should fail and fall, keep your motivation and always get back up! And don’t forget your school, you are always welcome to come back and share your experiences!
Enjoy today, enjoy the summer and freedom until next September, as you all continue your studies. I wish you much success and achievements in your future life!”
In her speech, the principal also addressed EBS High School teachers and parents, thanking them for their contribution to shaping the values, attitudes, and lives of young people, sharing knowledge and experiences. Their invaluable support provides the security necessary for young people and opens up opportunities they might not have even dared to dream of initially.
The EBS High School graduation ceremony will also be remembered for the sincere emotions and positive feelings of the class leaders and the young graduates themselves, the joy of achievement, gratitude, and good wishes.
As an innovative and forward-thinking school, EBS High School surprised the audience with an exciting duo of moderators – the ceremony was led by teacher Allan Männi along with the sensual AI text robot Elektra!
Congratulations to the fresh EBS High School graduates, and we wish you wise choices in your further studies!
