Team spirit brought victory at the golf course

The traditional golf tournament of Estonian Business School took place on St. Matthew´s Day, 21 September in the golf course of Estonian Golf & Country Club. The format of the tournament this year focused on the total score of points of teams.

The winning team included Peep Aaviksoo, Martin Paide, Targo Raus and Andrus Valma, and scored the total of 90 points. „As it appears in life, nobody is able to win alone, but only as part of a team. Each member of our team contributed to the win in all the courses,“ said Peep Aaviksoo when commenting on the win.

The total number of teams was 7 and the competition was rather even till the end. The team who won the second place, Maiko Kalvet, Tiit Orloff, Rain Uusküla and Kristi Õng, also scored 90 points, but the results of the last 9 courses of the winning team were better.

The special competition on course 10 “closest to the flag” was won by the President of the Estonian Golf & Country Club Jüri Ross whose ball stopped at the distance of 70 cm from the flag.

In addition to the main competition, the Estonian Golf & Country Club also offered a golf demo to the Ebsters who have contributed significantly to the success of EBS. The demo introduced the history-, etiquette- and rules of golf, and provided a practical session in the training course. This was followed by a friendly competition among EBS students – the first and second place were shared by the Head of Student Council Liisa Maide and the Head of International Club in Student Council Sirel Lember.

The EBS Habakuk Cup Invitational 2018 will take place on St. Matthew´s Day, 21 September 2018 as part of the events to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of EBS.
