Niveditha (or Nivi, as she prefers to be called) received her PhD in Economics as a Presidential Fellow from the University of Virginia in 2017. Her research is grounded in policy issues that affect sustainable economic growth in emerging markets. Her previous work has focused on property rights establishment and its effect on trade and deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. As a predominantly empirical researcher, she has experience dealing with large datasets, including spatial data analysis. She teaches various courses in Economics, including principles and economic analysis at the Bachelor's-level, as well as Global Economics and Politics at the Master’s level.
