EBS awarded two titles of doctor honoris causa at the Gala to celebrate its 30th anniversary in the Estonian Concert Hall on 8th December. A doctor honoris causa of EBS will become a person who has made a great contribution to the scientific research- and internationalisation of EBS.

In addition to the 12 doctors honoris causa the title was awarded to Tor Hernes, the professor of organisational theory at Copenhagen Business School, whose research topic is time in general and the extension of time into the past and the future, and its relevance to organisations. Hernes has had several exciting projects, e.g. a biodegradable beer bottle, whereas its applicability was studied at the research laboratory of Carlsberg Brewery.

The title of doctor honoris causa was also awarded to professor Alf-Erik Lerviksile, who is the author of the original model of Dynama management simulation. EBS has used the Dynama management simulation for over 10 years. The principles of successful management of an organisation have been taught by the above simulation to more than 2500 EBS students and EBS Executive Education trainees. According to the feedback of students, Dynama has been one of the best subjects of EBS with great practical value.

All the doctors honoris causa of EBS are highly recognised in the international circles of economists, management theorists and academic faculty. They have helped to improve the recognition and image of EBS, have a significant role in the development and leverage of collaboration and relations with international networks of research, economy and business education.
