When schools in Estonia made the transition to distance studies in mid-March, EBS High School was faced with a number of issues that needed to be resolved as quickly as possible.
Software called Aligner is a useful tool for EBS students as it helps to edit texts in different languages fast. Global pandemic has not stopped the number of Aligner users grow in March.
For the further development of the education system and for it to be able to change and adapt as needed, it would make sense to transfer the teaching work of all Estonian schools to one of the world’s leading virtual learning platforms, says Chancellor of EBS Mart Habakuk.
We have already chalked up almost two weeks of reorganised teaching work and changes to our everyday lives. I am grateful to all of you for the part you have played so far and for adapting so well to this rapidly evolving situation. Instead of anxiety, you have adopted a balanced response and chosen to support others. Instead of fear, you are looking to the future and doing your best every hour of every day to maintain the degree of quality to which our school and university operate.
Since Arno Almann's term as rector of EBS ends on 31 August 2020, rectorial elections have been announced. Application deadline is 4 May.
Transferring to online studies brings up new personal challenges. We will look into some of them and provide inspiration and support in coping with the reorganised way of studying.
From 16 March, EBS campuses in Tallinn and Helsinki are closed until further notice. All studies will be held via online channels.

Agu Uudelepp passed away on 4 February due to a severe illness. At EBS, Agu worked at the Department of Marketing and Communication and was appointed Chairman of the Master’s Studies’ Supervisory Board.
