Yesterday, on the afternoon of 7th March, the EBS campus was bustling with more young people than usual, and the atrium was filled with excitement - it was the EBS University open day. A large number future students had come to explore the university building, the study opportunities, students, and staff.

Merle Viirmaa, a long-time lecturer on executive coaching at EBS is now responsible for the development of all EBS coaching programmes and leads business development activities related to this field at EBS.

On February 20th, during a ceremony dedicated to the anniversary of the republic, EBS rector Meelis Kitsing spoke about the role of education in achieving and maintaining Estonian freedom. He highlighted that many school pupils, students, and teachers participated in the War of Independence. Throughout history, schools and universities have been carriers of freedom, sharing knowledge, carrying the spirit of our nation, and spreading values that have helped us understand the meaning of freedom and inspired us to stand up for it.

Kaie Koppel, EBS PhD student and Junior Research Fellow in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, wrote in the February edition of Postimees' "Tähenduse Teejuhid" about social innovation and her research, which explores the design and management of social services in co-creation with those in need, service networks, and communities.

February as a month holds a special place for Estonians. It's a time for joy and pride as we celebrate the birth of our republic and acknowledge those whose contributions drive our country, society and community forward. On the 20th of February, the EBS family gathered for a festive event to celebrate Estonian freedom and highlight the outstanding achievements and individuals of the previous year at EBS.

Study in Estonia invites prospective students to a special webinar that showcases the academic offerings of 10 Estonian universities, featuring up to 150 programmes tailored for international students. EBS is delighted to be among them, highlighting the educational opportunities of our university. The event is scheduled for February 22nd, 2024, from 14:00 to 17:00 (EET) (UTC+02:00).

During the Estonian Literature week, it is a great pleasure to present the newly released EBS publication – the e-book "35 Years Dedicated to the Future". This digital book describes the history of EBS, receiving a fresh update in celebration of EBS's 35th anniversary, incorporating the chronicles of the university's last five years.

Last week, EBS organised an exciting Hackathon event, bringing together over 40 students from our bachelor's degree programmes to brainstorm new and innovative business ideas. The event was expertly organized by Marge Täks and Jim Seltenrijch.

On January 30th, the EBS community gathered in the cozy auditorium of EBS to commemorate Madis Habakuk's 85th birthday anniversary. The memorial evening was attended by current and former colleagues, alumni, students, friends, and family members. In a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, they reminisced about Madis Habakuk's rich life's work, shared stories from the early days of EBS, and discussed his thoughts on leadership and life philosophy.
